Ohashi founded the Ohashi Institute in 1974, and it has since become an internationally recognized educational organization. In Japanese "Ohashi" means "big bridge," and one of Ohashi’s goals has been to create a bridge between Eastern and Western philosophies toward life and healing. Today the Institute teaches hundreds of students annually with more than 50 Certified Ohashiatsu® Instructors and Consultants in the United States and Europe.
The beginning level courses are open to everyone of all physical capacities and age. Beginning Ohashiatsu® I is a great way to explore and understand the fundamental principles and movements of this unique bodywork modality. It is of interest to both experienced and inexperienced students. All you need is an open mind and a willingness to learn.
The Institute is a nonprofit organization and depends on donations, besides tuition, to support student financial-aid programs and its international scholarship programs. These projects help us to fulfill our mission to serve the planet by bringing excellence to the art of healing and serenity to the art of living. Thus our motto, "Touch for peace.”
